The challenge
Pix, Brazil's instant-payment system, launched in November 2020. Betting sites were adding it fast and searchers were asking which ones accepted it. apostasesportivas24.com had a guide to Pix-friendly betting sites, but in October 2021 it didn't rank for the term at all.
What I did
From July to December 2021 I placed in-article links from Brazilian news sites to that exact page, with anchors that matched how people actually searched (“casas de apostas que aceitam pix”, “apostas que aceitam pix”). Then I kept a light maintenance flow through 2022 and 2023. Later, 26 of those links were re-pointed to the site's other payment-method pages; the counts here only include links still pointing at the Pix page.
What happened
By January 2022 the page was #3 in Brazil, by March #2 and in July 2022 it reached #1 (Ahrefs). Its estimated traffic went from zero in August 2021 to about 10,800 visits a month at its March 2022 peak. It slipped after Google's late-2022 updates, a reminder that new topics move fast in both directions.
